Account Information

When you sign in to Keeplys using Apple ID or Google, we receive:

  • Your email address
  • Your name (as provided by Apple or Google)
  • A unique user identifier

This information is used solely for authentication and to enable cloud sync features. Sign-in is optional—the app works fully without an account.

Documents & Content

When you use Keeplys to scan or upload documents:

  • Documents are stored locally on your device by default
  • We do not access, view, or analyze your documents
  • If you enable cloud sync, documents are stored in your personal iCloud or Google Drive account—not on our servers

Usage & Diagnostics

We collect anonymous usage data to improve the app:

  • App usage patterns (which features are used)
  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version
  • Crash reports and error logs (via Sentry)

This data is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Authenticate your account for cloud sync features
  • Enable document synchronization across your devices
  • Fix bugs and improve app stability
  • Understand how features are used to improve the experience
  • Provide customer support when you contact us

Data Storage & Security

Local Storage

Your documents are stored in the app's private, sandboxed directory on your device. This storage is:

  • Inaccessible to other apps
  • Protected by your device's built-in security
  • Encrypted on devices with encryption enabled

Cloud Storage

When you enable cloud sync:

  • Documents are uploaded to your personal iCloud or Google Drive account
  • All transfers are encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols
  • We never have access to your cloud-stored documents
  • You maintain full control over your cloud storage

Authentication Tokens

Sign-in tokens are stored securely using your device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android). We never store passwords.

Third-Party Services

Keeplys integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Apple Sign-In — For secure authentication on iOS
  • Google Sign-In — For secure authentication on iOS and Android
  • iCloud Drive — For optional cloud storage (Apple's privacy policy applies)
  • Google Drive — For optional cloud storage (Google's privacy policy applies)
  • Sentry — For crash reporting and error tracking (anonymous data only)

Each of these services has their own privacy policies that govern their data practices.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in these circumstances:

  • To comply with legal obligations

Your Rights

  • Access your data — View all documents stored in the app
  • Export your data — Share or save documents to other apps
  • Delete your data — Remove any or all documents from the app
  • Delete your account — Sign out and remove all associated data
  • Opt out of cloud sync — Keep all data local to your device

Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

  • Documents — Stored until you delete them
  • Account information — Retained while your account is active
  • Usage analytics — Aggregated data retained for up to 2 years
  • Crash reports — Retained for 90 days

Children's Privacy

Keeplys is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. However, it is not specifically designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy in the app or on our website. Your continued use of Keeplys after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
